Esai Aliquo has worked with Dreams of Hope since she was 13 years old. Five years later, we interview her, asking questions about when she considered herself an artist, who influences and inspires her, and why centering queer joy is so important in the journey towards liberation.

Esai is performing her one woman show, TRANSlation-One Young Trans Woman's Experience, July 15th 2023, where she tells her story to the world. Tickets are available now! We hope to see you there :) https://geminitheatercompany.thundert...

queer joy survey

what does queer joy mean to you?

Dreams of Hope is centering queer joy this year.

Often in the media, queerness is associated with a struggle — internal acceptance, external belonging, becoming free. Here at Dreams of Hope, we honor this pain and also we cultivate creativity while celebrating queerness.

What does queer joy mean to you? We are collecting responses from the community!
