Dreams of Hope is looking for 4-6 current or past participants to join the reiteration of our Queer Youth Advisory Council (QYAC)!

​

QYAC is about growth and leadership—personal and creative. If you’re part of our programs, this is your chance to take things to the next level.

​

With support from Dreams of Hope staff and teaching artists, QYAC members:

  • Set and satisfy a personal, career, or creative goal.

  • Explore what leadership means to them and grow into it.

  • Connect with queer artists for mentorship and real-world advice.

  • Get hands-on experience planning and promoting DOH programs and events.

  • Make a lasting impact as part of the DOH community.

  • Earn a stipend at the end of the program (yep, you get paid!).

QYAC is your space to grow, connect, and create your own path—while making a difference!

Eligibility 

  • Ages 13-26

  • Previously participated in DOH programming or attended a DOH event 

  • Available to attend at minimum 6 of the 8 program dates laid out below

Spring 2025 program dates 

February-May 2025 @ KST Alloy Studios (5530 Penn Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15206)

First and Third Tuesdays of the month, 4:30-7 pm ​

Spring 2025 program goals

  • Individual goal – Create and work towards one individual development goal. Might be professional, creative, leadership, or activist-related

  • Council goal – Develop a youth-lead outreach plan for theatriQ’s mainstage production in April 2025

Application timeline 

  • Applications due → Thurs, Jan 16, 2025 (by midnight) 

  • Notification of acceptance → Mon, Jan 27
