Each year, Dreams of Hope launches an original production created and performed by its theatriQ Youth Ensemble. The Ensemble’s 2017 premiere, Sun Dried Tomatoes welcomes you to a feast that celebrates gardens, communities, and, above all, life. A spring rain grows summer crops for the fall harvest. Every space is a living space, and nothing grows alone. One Pittsburgh garden contains a multitude of stories. What if you could hear what it has to say? Two recent high school graduates learn to live with a new roommate. Two families come together to make something new. A group of elders finds that it’s never too late to grow. From seed to flower, life is a messy, challenging tangle.
Sun Dried Tomatoes is made possible in part with generous support from The Heinz Endowments, the McDonnel-O'Brien Foundation, MUKTI Fund, the Pennsylvania Council on the Arts, the Allegheny Regional Asset District, Kelly Strayhorn Theater, Pittsburgh Center for Creative Reuse, off the WALL Charitable Foundation, the Cooper-Siegel Family Foundation, The Pittsburgh Foundation, and Eden Hall Foundation.
