About

🌈 Calling Queer and Trans Youth, ages 13-26, to Dive into the World of Movement! 💃🕺

MR TREVOR RETURNS!! Get ready to move your bodies and connect with yourself with local movement artist Trevor C. Miles. Trevor is a powerhouse movement artist, writer, music creator and performer hailing from and based in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.  In this workshop we will focus not only on solo work, but also interconnectivity. It’s Trevor’s goal to encourage students to move past and beyond their bodies. Nuanced interaction is just as big as the amplified moments. We will explore the spectrum!

What to Expect

🕺 Unleash Your Inner Performer: express yourself authentically through movement, embracing your true self without reservation.

🌟 Embrace the Spectrum of Movement: from nuanced interaction to amplified moments, movement contains magic. Interconnectivity is present whether you prefer to dance solo, with a partner, or with an entire room.

💫 Beyond the Body: your artistry goes beyond the physical vessel, extending into the realms of emotion, thought, and storytelling.

🌈 A Haven for Queer and Trans Youth: Dreams of Hope is a welcoming, inclusive, and affirming space where you can be your authentic self. Connect with like-minded individuals who share your journey, your experiences, and your dreams.

🌈 Let's Move, Connect, and Create Together! 🌈

💰 Dreams of Hope compensates creative labor and has funding to provide stipends to theatriQ participants at the end of the series in December. We encourage regular attendance and participation!

theatriQ is our performance arts ensemble for Queer and Trans youth ages 13-26. This workshop series is happening from October - December where local artists are holding space to learn about, discuss, and connect to a plethora of topics pertaining to theater and performing arts.

In spring (January to May), those that join the theatriQ ensemble will not only collaboratively envision a new production from the ground up, but also translate the collective work from paper to the stage for the world to see! This devising process is supported along the way by local teaching artists.
