GMCW with Candace Gingrich-Jones and Dreams of Hope
Saturday, February 18, 2012, at 8 pm (ASL) Lisner Auditorium
730 21st Street NW, Washington, DC
In the second show of GMCW’s 2011-2012 season, The Kids Are All Right, the Gay Men’s Chorus of Washington champions equality for youth and adults. Appearing on stage with GMCW is author and activist Candace Gingrich-Jones in a narration of a musical adaptation of the children’s book Oliver Button Is A Sissy. In the second act of the show, the Chorus of 145 singers will be joined by Dreams of Hope, a courageous Pittsburgh-based creative and performing arts troupe featuring powerful songs and stories from queer youth and their allies in a presentation of their new original work “Being In, Being OUT”.
