Miriam Jones

Miriam Jones, educator, poet, received her BA in psychology from Chatham College, her English degree and teaching certificate from Eastern Michigan University, and her Master's Degree in Secondary Education from Salisbury University. She subsequently taught high school English to students on the lower Eastern Shore of Virginia for three years, and in Delaware for one year.

Ms. Jones has been writing poetry for over 15 years, and has been published in Gargoyle Magazine, Bogg, Delmarva Poetry Review, Phoebe: Journal of Gender and Cultural Critiques, Sanskrit Literary Arts Magazine, Touchstone, Avocet, The Fourth River, and Black Book Press, among other journals.

She currently lives in Springfield, VT, where she is co-president of Veganism is the Next Evolution (VINE), a sanctuary for rescued farm animals. The sanctuary cares for approximately 300 chickens, 25 ducks, geese, turkeys, and guinea hens, 25 cows, and half a dozen sheep on 100 acres in Vermont.
